Sometimes it is helpful to bring in an independent person to facilitate your event or discussion. It can make sense for a number of reasons – their particular expertise or status that can help inform debate, the need to deal with a particularly emotive or sensitive issue or simply to give you the chance to take a step back and participate in the discussion. It is vital however that the facilitator understands the dynamic of the audience and what you need to achieve as well as having the necessary people skills.
Polley Solutions has considerable experience in facilitating events ranging from workshops of senior board governors who hold their cards close to their chests through to groups of stakeholders who agree on only one thing – that they do not like your proposal! The company’s owner Jan Polley spent many years working with delivery partners and stakeholders in her own policy areas and at one stage acted as an adviser to the Prime Minister’s Office on engaging with stakeholders. In recent years she has provided facilitation to a wide range of clients including senior management teams, boards of governors and wider stakeholder groups.
Services offered include facilitation of:
- Development days for boards of governors or management teams
- Stakeholder events
- Partnership working discussions
- Strategy development workshops
Recent or current clients include:
- Non-Ministerial Departments
- Housing Associations
- Non Departmental Public Bodies
“I just wanted to say that we would be foolish not to continue with your sessions, the evaluations from your events are consistently high and staff obviously appreciate the immense value of not only the content but your approach to training. Thank you for making my job easy!”
